runtime
RB guys out there, what kinda runs times you get and what motor you have?
i have a S3 with a dynamite pipe and i get 11 mins, i think i could make 12. and thats with no carb restrictor, running about 230-240 |
RE: runtime
I run a C6/JP-3 in my RC8.
Byron's 20%, OS P3 plug and a 7mm restrictor, motor still shimmed for 30% fuel. I get an easy 10 minutes a tank, with a heavy trigger finger and a fat tune up. (185*-195* temps) I was die hard OS till I got this C6 on a trade deal. Me likey.............:D Did I mention that it runs like a raped ape???????[X(][X(]:D[8D] Scott |
RE: runtime
how can you tell what its shimmed for? lol raped ape....high five.:D
|
RE: runtime
right under 10 w/s5w/086 running fat(not totally broke in)..before i run again im gonna put a turbo head on..im sure ill get 11 after 5or6or so more tanks..big difference after running a v2 21 lol it got right at 8min
|
RE: runtime
my picco only ran about 7, the os vg i used ran about 8, now my rb runs over 11. i want to try the 6mm restrictor and see how long it will run, i just dont want to retune it cause im lazy lol
|
RE: runtime
The C6 out of the box, is shimmed for up to 25% according to RB.
When I got this motor it had an additional shim installed and the guy was running on 30% fuel. Next time out, it will be sporting a 5.5mm restrictor, OD 97T plug, a 17T bell as well as .8 clutch springs. I'm happy with the runtime, just trying to calm it down a bit more for the indoor track I run on. Once I get it where I want it, it's going on my Son's car and I will go back to running my OS Speed motors. Scott |
RE: runtime
Modded C6, about 11-12 min on a tank depending on the track layout, at about the 8 gallon mark and still going strong.
|
RE: runtime
how do you get 25% at my hobby shop theres 20% and then theres 30% nothing inbetween
|
RE: runtime
the manual should say what it is shimmed for and how much clearance you need.
some hobby shops carry 25%. |
RE: runtime
how would i shim it to use 20%
|
RE: runtime
Shim what?
Most motors are fine with 20% straight out of the box, no additional shims needed. Scott |
RE: runtime
wow and i just went out last week and bought a hole gallon of 30% #@$%$#^&$#$
|
RE: runtime
what motor are you going to be running?
Scott |
RE: runtime
well i was running an os vg but im getting rid of that. i'll be running an rb c6 it seems nice and its cheap enough for me to buy.

RE: runtime
my bad i mean the S5 wow i cant seem to get anything right this week![:o]
the s5 is $234 |
RE: runtime
that sounds more like it:D
|
RE: runtime
Runtime is something that is affected by so many factors..... track layout, ambient temp. vehicle selection and driving style as well as needle position...... However I have several guys running my modified Picco .21's and they are always the fastest .21's on the track, and always have the most fuel left out of a qualifier..... on our tracks we usually get around 9 minutes in a Truggy and 8 minutes in a buggy.....
