Changing Fuel. Any issues??
Hey there.
Due to local availability of fuel, I'm being forced to change from Sidewinder 30% to Byrons Gen 2 25%. I've only ever run both my OS engines with Sidewinder 30. Are there any issues I need to be aware of? As always, thanks for your experience and help. |

RE: Changing Fuel. Any issues??
I was told when switching fuel to idle through 2 tanks at rich setting before race tuning. I've only switched once & i used this method. weather it made a difference or not i don't know, But i figure better safe than sorry. Good luck.

RE: Changing Fuel. Any issues??
I run with a v spec, OS 2060 pipe and an OS p4 plug in a buggy. One day I was using byrons gen 2 30% then I had to switch to sidewinder 30% that same day. The temp went from 230 to 250 after the switch. I dont think there is anything wrong with switching fuel like that. Just make sure you keep an eye on the temp and you may need to re tune.

no problems changing fuel, just fatten up the needles and retune to the new fuel. run the first tank through rich just to make sure and then lean out as you do when running in, a little at a time.

I can only say good things about Gen 2. Usually the cheap Hobbytown stuff is sold out, so Byron's it is anyway.

Good choice with the Byrons, just re-tune and youre all set, when I switched, the original setting was way too rich, so be ready for a leaner setting and cooler temps, believe it or not!!!
