What will I need?
I'm putting a LRP .28 spec 3 pull start engine in a Ofna MXB that came with a Ofna p4 .21. What all will I need to put this motor in this buggy? It looks as thought the engine shaft on the LRP engine is longer and has less threads then the Ofna engine.
Can I get it to work and what clutch parts will I need? Also think I need a different fly wheel and clutch nut? |
RE: What will I need?
Do I use an Associated flywheel and clutch nut and then use the Ofna clutch and clutch bell?

RE: What will I need?
If someone knows can they please post something. I'm anxious to get this new motor running.

RE: What will I need?
Well, if you havent already bought it, I suggest you get a GOOD .21 engine. Heck, even truggies run .21 engines. A .28 will have way too much bottom end and will suck fuel up compared to a .21.

RE: What will I need?
To late. I'm new to the game and didnt realize you could not make the SG shaft motor fit in the old chassis. The old motor has a shorter fully threaded shaft.

RE: What will I need?
I'm wondering if I should just buy a roller off of Ebay now? What would you guys recommend for a good handling basher buggy/truggy?

RE: What will I need?
Hobao Hyper ST Pro or the Hyper 8.5, these are strong cars. And they're not that expensive any more.

RE: What will I need?
Just wanted to update this. I got it running and mounted motor is nice! I ended up having to use some Kyosho motor mounts that lifted the engine and then shimmed the clutch bell to move it forward. Lastly I needed an Associated clutch nut for a SG shaft. Works great, so far...

RE: What will I need?
getting help around here sucks sometimes, doesn't it? I am having the same issues but worse. I already know what clutch to use and how to shim and how to install but can't seem to find anything but werks and fioroni clutch sets. Although they may be worth buying I like variaty. If I find out anything I will post latter.
