question on pipes
you have low end,,midrange and top end pipes,,,if you put a top end pipe on does it take a little of the low end away and increase the top end or does it keep the same low end and increase the top end,,,there is so many pipes to choose from it just gets a little confusing....thanks

RE: question on pipes
It all depends on the engine, for the most part a top end pipe will sacrifice some low end and vice versa, if you find a pipe that the engine likes, it will be happy all around.

RE: question on pipes
+1
If I run a 2035 pipe on my OPS, the engine produces less power and speed. If I run the 2010 pipe on the OPS, it makes more speed and low end power. |
RE: question on pipes
Usually stay with dual chamber pipes, you will see as they have like an inner wall (chamber) insde the pipe. It usually can be seen by looking thru the exit tube of the pipe. The ones that are cheap are the single chambers, those give plenty of torque but not much top end. The single chamber are sold most of the time cheap on auction sites.
The length of the pipe also affects its performance, on-road engines use shorter pipes (more top end). Sometimes you got to spend the money trying, testing different kinds. I rarely buy them new, get them second hand on auction websites and if I dont like it resell or for bashing back-up pipe. Even the material they are made of affects performance, back pressure has an important role on nitro engines. |
