Duratrax Axis Engine Replacement Help!!!!!!
I have owned a Duratrax Axis for about 6-9 years now and it has been a great car ever since a while ago when Iaccidentally burn'tout the motor and just decided that it was time to get a new one.It used to have a Torq .21 engine in it and I would like to get something with equal or more power in it, but not too much power to when it destroys the car. I would also like it to be a max of $200, as well as be able to have more than enough power the jump so jumps and be able to go through dirt and sand with ease.I would also like to know what some of the longest lasting set of Rough Terrain tires are.http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...n/confused.gif

RE: Duratrax Axis Engine Replacement Help!!!!!!
That dynamite/sh engine will definitely have more power than that Torq .21 As far as "rough terrain" goes, please elaborate. Is this strictly for the track or will it be predominately for bashing?

RE: Duratrax Axis Engine Replacement Help!!!!!!
I will be using it for some bashing and a little racing

RE: Duratrax Axis Engine Replacement Help!!!!!!
I also have an Axis that I bought about 10 years ago. I replaced the Torq .21 engine with a Ofna Force P-4 which was alot
faster than the Torq .21. The problem is the Axis requires a treaded crank .21 engine not a SG style crank. Engine companies do not make treaded crank .21's anymore. The only thing I could tell you is to fix your Torq .21. Tower Hobbies still sells the piston and sleeve for that engine. The Force P-4 treaded crank has been discontinued. P/S. I wouldn't really want to race the Duratrax Axis though. |
RE: Duratrax Axis Engine Replacement Help!!!!!!
Are you saying that you can't fit any other clutch on there? I find that rather hard to believe.
|
RE: Duratrax Axis Engine Replacement Help!!!!!!
Sure you can rig something up, but you will have to find another flywheel and clutch-nut. The Axis has an odd motor mount; I use it the break-in my new motors, but can not line-up the clutch and the spur gear exactly right which causes the plastic spur gear to strip, because the set-up is for a treaded crank engine. You may have to also replace the motor mounts.
