Need help with Buggy Engine
 

Anyone can help or suggestion which .21 engine to choose for big jump and has huge torque? I have a budget around $400, Thanks....
I'm still comparing RB, OS and Nova.

If you need torque then I suggest my clocked B5 https://clockworkracingengines.com/c...rk-werks-b5-21 , combined with the werks 2057 tuned pipe it is an amazing package.... Faster and more powerful then any stock engine you can buy, great on fuel, super easy to tune and an all around awesome engine.....Wehn you take this bab boy out on the track everybody will be asking what your running !

jammin JPX 21 or an Alpha orange head with the 0801 Alpha pipe, youll have more torque than you can handle.

whats the gas miledge on that engine, as an engine modder myself I know changing port timings makes themiledge worse. which may be critical in a race. having to refuel alot. but a wicked fast engine can put you way out frontwithgood driver skill so making a extra fill up may not make a difference at all.

of the ones you said the navorossi would be the fastest. but a picco 21 would a great choice good price and great performer.

no but the modfied werks engine by clockwerks would probally be faster. navorossi engines have earned a great reputation in the past for being extremely fast and quality engines but i have heard that some are a pain in the arse to tune. the works engine is new to me cause I race 1/8 truggy with my savage X I am more used to .28 size engines.

doesnt have much torque, it is a smooth power plant. if you want a nova with alot of bottom get a P5.

Fuel mileage is very good on the modified B5.... We were running 6 minute qualifiers yesterday with one and after 6 minutes it had used slightly over 1/2 tank.... We were running against plus 4, OS Speed as well as a few V-Spec's and the modified Werk's used no more fuel then any of them..However the power and RPM difference was quite large, the modified B5 was easilly the strongest truggy engine at the track.... Truthfully you will not find a stock Nova that will come anywhere close to the performance of the modified B5, nor will the Nova's tune as easily.....The new 2010 Werk's engine have a fantastic carburetor that tunes better then any other brand I have run to date.... Excellent engines.... my driver TQ'd and won A-Main truggy yesterday with the mod B5......

sounds great! I love winning races. I havent ran in compitition for so long. I figured your modified Werkswould runfaster than the nova. I changed a couple port timings on my stock savage xengine and it really did respond well. Im nowhere near a pro enginemodder. I know a change some timing but thats it. the reason i asked about fuel consumption is causewhen I changed the timing on my F4.6 it was a monster but alsothe fuel consuption went way down. my losi 454 i will try some different things to see ifi can get better miledge. anyways thanks for the responseon my question...

are u the Clockwerks engine modder? do you know a guy named Robin he does themods for ERCM. I talk to him once an awhile on savagecentral about engine mods. he does somegreat work. ive seen alot of yourmodded engines on y tube you do some greatwork also.

I am the engine modder yes..... I also know Robin well, we talk from time to time........ The Nova's are nice engines, but they are far too smooth for my tastes... None of them have anywhere near enough bottom end for me.... I am more into engine that have some bite to them, and to date I have not seen a stock Nova that I would even raise an eyebrow over in terms of power.... Yes they are a quality well built engine, however I could care less if the engine is boring and flat......... The Werk's engine has fantastic build quality, fit and finish...it has a very punchy powerband and is extremely easy to tune, likely the easiest to tune race engine I have ever run....Its actually unbelievable how good the engine tunes...Even modded up to make big HP the engine is so simple to tune a caveman can do it......... IMHO the Nova's seem to be tuned more towards big open sweeping tracks with low grip as they do have great top end for the most part, but really lack that low end punch that I am used to.... on a high grip track with big short run up jumps a Nova would be the last engine I would look at.....On a big open Euro track they would be great, but for me they are way too soft for our style of tracks....... If your an expert driver that can carry high corner speeds you wont notice the soft bottom much, but if your like me , you need to have a strong bottom end punch to clear the jumps as I don't have the driving skill to carry corner speed like the pro's....The Werk's will clear any jump any time with next to zero run up, it has such a strong crisp low end that it allows you to slow down and square up a jump without the fear of landing short, in fact with this engine your more then likely to overshoot if anything..... Slow down and square up a big jump with a soft bottom end and you will have zero chance of clearing the jump...... A pro can make a soft engine look amazing on the track, however the average Joe is just going to come up short with a soft engine

well, if you have youre mind set on buying the nova a ofna 053 pipe might give it a small increase in mid power you probally wont be dissapointed. if I was competing I would want every advatage I could get and theclocked works .21 5b is faster than the nova.I didnt know really to much about .21 sised engines until I read this thread. and I wanted to thank supertib for the pro advise.

the ofna 086 would probally match the novarossi's powerband alot better that the 053. the nova is a what I would call a peaky engine, it makes decent mid power but has a sreaming top end.  </p>

086 kills run time and the 053 helps on the bottom without giving up hardly anything on top. i ran the 053 on my novas and they worked better than the 086.

Hi, I was wonderin if you guys could help me out with something? Well Im new to this site and I have my 1/8 Ofna nitro buggy up in the market place. Im only lookin for trades. well what I can say is that you have to check the person feedback, see if they got sales or trade reputation, usually on the ad forum they stated on the rank if they are trade plus something or market authorized member, something like that. Hope it helps. I never trade but used to purchase one on the ad and everything was ok.

MY clocked B5 on the Werk's 2057 is the hot setup..... Awesome performance and a very throaty raspy exhaust note.... easy tuning and very good on fuel........

I also have the Mugen Ninja JX engines as well....

Yes! as an engine modder myself ive done some work,,and i know just the basics,, I modded a stock engine and it turned into a animal. a pro engine modder such as clockwerks has way more knowledge and experiece than me. they know how to make them INSANE

get a clockwork engine! Supertib has some of the best service ever. Great guy to deal with. I got my ofna jl .21 and have 4 tanks on it now and the thing is a beast, ive very impressed with it!
