It seems to me that bottoms of hulls must be diffrent because models starts to fly at high speeds. Interesting solution is this type of hull:
In your's model it can be possible to change the bottom shape of float hull ( i can't exactly define this element of model in english ) and right angle of engine tilt ( max -3 deg. ), and of course, very accurate ballancing of the model and it would be swim correctly.

Yea I need too get them out, the electric has been sitting since its first time out.
Its ready too run, I've got new packs too, just waiting.
On yours
Id put two runners on the back of the tub, 1.25 or so wide. Get the boat where it's setting close too level when it's on a table.
Need dead calm water.

Great post Kurt.....That motor makes the boat a formula 1 power house. Make the boat out of aluminum and carbon and remove that KILLER flex. keep watching the slo-mo over and over

I found everything, and everything works. *whew* For anyone wondering if the Forerunner 201 is truly waterproof, I can attest that it is. I've looked into a large enough sheet of carbon fiber to make the deck...that ain't happenin'. it's like $2300. I'll have to find some way to remove the flex. After thinking about it for a while, I'm convinced that the wood was really stressed from all the other crashes and it just decided to give up.
I've been eyeing up "overbite" SI3-G hull, It wouldn't take all that long to convert...

I'd just build another one from regular birch plywood again. Golly, it survived this long.... Then again you did have two of those pigs...

65 mph. Very disappointing. There has to be a way to stiffen the top deck without adding a ton of weight. Maybe oak plywood?

Oak plywood isn't any better. The oak veneer is so thin, it alone won't do much strength-wise. And quite possibly, the substrate could be pine and not a hardwood. I think you would need to do something similar to what I did on my 60 series copy with a couple sticks of oak.

If you want you can build something like this
Its a concept sketch that I posted on RCAW and some gasser or 1/4 scale pontoon plans I did up. the concept was take the middle section and add it to the back of the out runners removing one point of contact. Put a wing on the back to keep the back stable at high speeds. one of the key things is bring the CG up so when you gun the throttle the boat wants to jump up instead of down allowing the boat to plane out. stiffness will be a problem but you could build a cat type hull to help. Anyway it would be fun to play with I wan to build a small one to see how it works and get the CG and things working.

That crash is not nice for modeller. We've had a few incidents. I try to film every single swimming to analyse it after it. We've analysed your film and we're think that construction of Speed Airboat doesn't work well on high speeds- it gets vibrations ( as it was visible on film from 4:50 to 5:05 ).
Congratulations, you reclaimed all your gear. Some time ago we've lost to batteries in crash.
If you send us demensions of the model, power of the motor, betteries capacity and voltage, size of propeller we'll try to invent a new idea of that model.
