Default Rcaw

Rcaw seems to be down, and has been for a few days. I got a pm from Chris today saying that the site will no longer be. he doesn't have enough time to take care of everything that needs to be taken care of so he's letting the site go.

I'm sad that it will not be available as a resource for people looking to get into the hobby, but I've noticed a decline in attendance for some time now.

we had a really good run though guys.

What about all of the data and postings? Is any of that data gonna be saved? OR is there a possibility of someone else taking the forum over?

Talk about a good way to bum a guy out... If you get ahold of Chris, let me know. It'd be super cool if one or a couple of us could keep it alive a little bit longer. I'm gonna cross my fingers and tie 'em in knots.

Crispy is working on getting in touch with Chris. Just waiting to hear back from him. If Chris will let someone else take over the board to keep it alive awhile longer, I'd be willing to cover the cost of the web server for a year - I don't think its that expensive. This way we could move or offload some of the data to another forum or something?

Yes sir, it is a sad time even for me as a late comer to the game. It's such a shame all of the data from the site is gone - all of the build logs and pictures are long gone.

I was Legal v8 on RCAW. You can call me the copycat builder. LoL.

Hey Hooty. Good to see your name again.
You get any further on that electric rocket you call a boat? You should post it here at RCU.

RC Airboat World was a really great forum to have been a part of. There were a lot of quality guys that posted some fantastic boats and the build logs that got them there. Surely a loss wealth of information. I had referred several aircraft guys to Chris and his forum to get SI3 kits and plans in several parts of the world.

Crispy sold me an engine from one of his 1/4 scale SIs and in the box was a couple of these stickers. I stuck one on my lunchbox a week before I got the sad news about RCAW.
