Carb rotated 180 degrees, would throw the intake timing off.
I would be suprised if it ran.

 I would believe turning the carb 180 degrees will throw the intake timing off.

I wonder if the motor will run like that.

I would bench try it first.

It still runs perfect with the engine adjusted so the carb is upright, rain has never caused any of my airplanes any problems in the past. carb facing up or down

Now changing the old tuned pipe for the new second hand one

the old pipe was better on the old .40 engine the newer one is made for .60+ engines

It needs a good polish and a pressure nipple fitting
