Default Help please got more problems lol

up date think i have fixed it now try it tomorrow night get a new 11 by 7 prop

the problem using a plane engine mount flexes a bit too much went to my mates garage got a nice bit of aluminium for top of the hull and got a bit of metal bent it to support the engine it not move now a bit heavy but it works try it tomorrow night hopefully that sort it out just try not to hit the bank its a nice pond i go to it has wire mesh around the bank not very nice for the side of my boat tho

took a few pics of the mount painted the metal looks a bit better as soon as the winter is here she getting a good paint job fill all the holes in nice lol

ps car body filler is great stuff lol

I tried it tonight seemed better but ran it with a 11 by 8 prop very slow get a 11 by 7 tomorrow that be better gave a mate a go thought he had sank it got stuck on top of weeds think i need to change the angle of the engine and i think the mount may be a bit heavy try some aluminum tomorrow see if that helps

What about trying a three blade prop?

Hi I have two 3 blade props a 9by 3 and a 10 by 3 I tried the ten on a 40 did not have very much power I give it a try tonight as Im trying to run the new engine in it is fantastic really powerful

need to try sus out how to make a new mount what metal to use! thank you for your reply kind regards stewart

What about wood?

Use your existing mounts and cut the middle out, the ends becoming a bracket. Then use 1/4" ply to make the risers.

I do not think his problem is the risers flexing. It's hard to see in the pic but I think the weak point it the thin unsupported metal behind the motor mount. Might want to think about making triangle braces out of aluminum and pop a few rivits for strength.

Hi i went got two steel brackets they will not bend fitted them today going to try a 10 by 7 prop give it a wee bit more clearance as at the mo only got half an inch thank you for your thoughts kind regards stewart
