Fox Racing glow plug ?'s
 

Is anyone familiar with these plugs? They're the long version with the idle bar.

Problem: When I put my heater on them, the coil doesn't get hot. I've tried four different ones at different settings on my power panel from low-med-high.

Even put a drop of WD40 on the coil just to see if it'd smoke. NO.

They're NIP. When adjusting the voltage on the other plugs, you can see it glow hotter. But with these.... [:@]

Btw, anyone got a good starting point with the needles on the OS Max 60?

No experience with the Long idle bar plugs, but I do use the Fox Blaster plugs on all my engines that use a short plug. I wouldn't use anything else. Never did care for the idle bar myself.

This may sound like a smart as* question but, is your glo igniter fully charged? More often overlooked than not!

No it doesn't sound that way. ;)

I'm using a power panel connected to a 12v small car battery. Got plenty of juice:D

I'll have to try setting the panel to its highest setting again due to the glow wire being thicker.

Your ideas are much appreciated.

This might sound off key , but , if you set your panel to the highest , and got plenty of juice , take just one of the plugs and try using 3 volt instead of 1.5 . ( try just taking two alkie batts temp hooked together and connect your plug connector and check to see if you get any glow . Of course , be ready to disconnect immediately if you see glow ... otherwise , I would have to say , you got a "bad" batch ?
And I am assuming that you checked power out thru the end of the plug connector ?
Please don't misunderstand , I am not familiar with that plug at all , but , that is what I would do .
How ever you go about it and resolving the problem , please let us know the outcome .

Going up in voltage is what I also would try next. I'm not sure about this plug, but I have used some in the past that were 2volt plugs. Being a thicker element, and depending if it is platinum or tungsten, would make a big difference in the voltage needed. Not all mfgs state their plug is 1.5v or 2v. It's just assumed its 1.5v.

What is the heat rance of the plug? Cold, Medium, Hot? Requirements for the different heat ranges have been known to differ.

If all else fails, contact Fox directly and see what they say.
