hey

i have recently built a airboat but my engine mountings are made from 5 milimeter plexiglass that us bent at 90 degrees and is joint directly onto the boat the plexiglass also holds fuel tank and servos the engine is a thunder tiger GP 25 will the plexiglass hold it or will it shatter, and what if i soft mounted the engine on ruber or neoprene????

PS ignore the block thing under the mounting its a desighn error
thanks

RE: plexiglass?????

Plexiglass might not be tough enough. If you want the clear look you could use Polycarbonate sheet, it's tougher than plexi.

I have tried acrylic sheeting on rudders for a .25 hull, did not work, for very long, with in a week it was cracking. Using this on a engine stand will not be a good idea. The engine stand is one of the most important parts of a build.

Be very careful with this plastic. When introduced with Methonal in your fuel it will crack and cause failures. You can sub it with a clear pvc. PVC hold up much better in a chemical enviroment.
