Airboat project

Hello,
I was given this for my son to play with while i fly my floatplanes<got to keep the pesky kids happy> i,ve never tried an airboat before and just wondered if the a 25 two stroke will have enough power.
Specs are 29 inches long, width 13 inches ,weight so far with all r/c gear less motor is 3lbs,the hull is a shallow vee.A couple of questions ,do i need a water rudder? and the engine mount has down thrust built in ,do i need this ?.
I added the plastic cockpit from a dead jet and do intend to paint it if it works ,
thanks Euan.

Someone gave that to you? That is a sweet boat.

Will a .25 push it? Sure it will. Will it go fast? probably not. If you have the .25 laying around and the kids are novice....it should be perfect for a trainer boat. You can upgrade engines as they get better.

Hello,
i managed to get some paint onto my sons airboat ,had a rethink on the motor i think a os 30 fourstroke turning a three bladed prop will work fine.
cheers Euan.

I agree with crispyspa, it likely won't go very fast, but hey...you can always upgrade!!!:D
