RE: Best Hull!!!
Try thin plywood around 1/8 thick or balsa wood. It depends on what size boat you are building.

foam covered with epoxy works too.

yea ive got this electric twin engine plane that was give to me its old and it has been crashed a few times not worth fixing so i figured i might try to make a home made air boat and use the motor servo and esc.

Just make sure the radio is on a ground frequency, not an aircraft frequency. Lite ply and balsa wood for a hull would work great.

RE: Best Hull!!!
Buy a 1/2" thick sheet of Dow blue foam, 4' x 8' for about 11 bucks. That will make several airboats, airplane floats, etc. I've made two airboats so far with it. I love working with it. It cuts cleanly with a band saw, lamiates quickly with 3M Super 77 spray adhesive (just don't overspray or it will melt the foam...lite coat sticks well), and I can shape it on my bench sander. You can glue on balsa covering and decking, or just coat it with 2-part bar epoxy or poly fiberglass resin, which is what I do. I epoxy glue in a square of 1/4" lite ply to attach my motor mounts to.
