Default Vintage LaTrax Boat Collection

My collection of LaTrax Boats, vintage 1970-80. The radios did not survive the test of time.

Default RE: Vintage LaTrax Boat Collection

Good looking collection.  I had 2 of the LaTrax boats and a Red LaTrax Corvette that I bought at a Freight Salvage sale for 10 bucks NEW.  I crashed the car into a basketball goal pole and messed up the radio.  Sent it to Dallas, Texas and the replaced the broken Receiver, Steering Servo and Body for $14.95 back then.  Sold it to a guy for $75.00 and about 4 months I bought it bace not running for $20.00.  Sent it back to LaTrax and for $14.95 they came through again.  Sorry to say I got rid of all of that about 3 years later.  Yours are the first ones I have seen since the early 80's.  Ray

Hey Dave, we have to go out sometime and play with our boats again! We've got a new boater that kind of lives out your way in Scotts, on S Ave. east of 29th Street near Mud Lake.
The LaTrax (now Traxxas) boats used the old Futaba "box" radios, the predcessor to the pistol grip radios. Those were the ones to have back in the day! Ric Carpenter who passed away in the past year loved them and converted them over to today's spec's.
