I am fairly new to boats but, have owned 2 nitro hydros (Ms. Vegas's) in the semi recent past. Over the past 5 years i have wanted to get more into the hobby but, i have never had a good place to use them (hence why i sold the 2 MV's). Now, i just purchased a new home that sits on a nice 12 acre pond with a "no gas" rule so for obvious reasons, i am only interested in brushless electrics and i am hoping to seek the advice of you guys to steer me in the right direction.
My first question is: What are the benefits/drawbacks to each hull type? (Hydro, Mono, Rigger, Cat and so on) I dont race but want something super fast on Lipos, but can just be used for fun/beating around the pond. The water rarely gets more than a ripple on it and is mostly glass day in and day out. I have been looking at all the Mini-Cat products and really like their smaller boats. Anyone have experience with mini cat? Also, the super v 27, Ms Gieco, and the new traxxas boats all look good.
What would you buy? It must be fast and most of all durable. I plan to run it around just for fun and want the "Best Bang for the buck"
Thanks.

Hi Darren,
A rigger is the fastest of the lot, it holds the world speed record with 140 mph, give or take a few miles...
Now that particular one is the result of a team effort and a lot of money.
If you don't want to be thát fast, something like a Demon rigger would be very quick aswel.
Mind you, you'll have to set it up yourself, off the shelf nothing comes even close to (that) fast...
A scratchbuild of the Predator rigger would go fast too:

Or this ones:
