Coat with epoxy, sand smooth and paint. Adding glass only makes the boat heavier, harder to repair and that will do nothing but make your boat slower. In my 29 years of building boats, the only boat I ever glassed was a Dumas sport 20 Pak, that being after I removed the deck to rework part of the fuel system, only to discover that the glass didn't help anything and made further rework virtually impossible

Dumas kits are heavy enough as it is you want to limit the extra weight as much as possible, specially on a "B size hull". Hydroplanes are like planes, they must be build to run not to crash! Lucky you having a spot to run IC in Nanaimo, in the lower mainland we've been reduced to fast electric after loosing our pond to "bird watchers"[&o]

Hello niteshadow,

You should go for paint rather than fiberglass. Fiber glass will make your boat heavier. So i would like to recommend you to use marine paint ot paint your boat.

You could race in at the NAMBA district races in Washington. I know the season is over so you have some time until next season starts in the spring. You can get more info at http://www.namba8.com/
