Default Cost to build/buy turbine powered RC boat?

I am wondering how much does it cost to build or buy a twin turbine powered race boat? Also what kind of speed advantage do turbine engines offer over their nitro reciprocating counterparts? Anyone here own such a model?

$10-$15,000.00 with everything.
There's not really a lot of speed advantage as the take a while to get up to speed and they have RPM limiters.
Yes, I know a guy who has one.

Thanks for replying Ron. I did some research and came up with roughly $12k. So I was right on the money so to speak. So why do guys spend so much money on them if they can get comparable speeds from a nitro powered hull? Just for bragging rights?

Because they can.
The guy that I know also has a full-sized twin turbine powered offshore Cat.
At the Toledo Show, I've seen model jets that had to have close to 30 Grand into them.
These are just nothing more than really expensive toy boats to me. You can't race them as there is no class for them.
There's a video on my friend Tom Borisch's site that shows one of his running being driven by one of the foremost experts here in the US taking it for a test drive, Peter Mueller.
