Default little help with the Shinano project plz

Hi Everyone,

Need some help and advice from you boat pros

My father and myself set out to build the Yamato, shinano and Musashi all in 1/96 scale. the yamato is completed , ( yes i know... we been called madman before )

So later this year or beginning of 2016 work will commence on the Shinano, i have the hull already, using the same hull as i used for the yamato purchest from "fleetscale"

The problem im having is a good reference guide for building this monster lol. for the Yamato we used the book "the battleship yamato byJanusz Skulski" and was great info plus the plans we got for the Yamato from "fleetscale" themselves.

So anyone know of good reference for the shinano? even a small scale model kit and or materiel online? someone else dared build this in 1/96 already? i cant really find anything useful online

My father and myself would of started this a couple years ago but sadly my father found out he has cancer and is on borrowed time now, so very unlikely to see the Shinano built. but in true spirit the old bugger has been busy craft small parts while he still can! so even tho he wont be around to see the other 2 ships finished hes still contributed to the builds, bless him

Any help would great thanks.

P.s the reason 1/96 scale isn't a issues is because im fortunate to live across from our local boating pool

Impressive project! The Shinano wasn't even completed when sunk in 1944 so there is little documentation about her:

Please post pictures of the Yamato, you might get more feed back from this forum for scale build:

Another large Yamato:
Tamiya has a model of the Sinano(1/700 scale):

Thanks for the links, and yes its going to be a challenge!! .. but looking forward to it very much..

So far i've been downloading pic's of what others have built... so giving me some good ideas.

currently lost most pic and all videos of the Yamato due to my ext hard drive been broke (looks at photo of his 5 year old daughter!!) but lucky have some old photographs..

tonight i've been cleaning part of the yamato which sadly someone removed the dust cover from the ship and has 1 -2 years of dust!

Getting a good clean and then paint touch ups etc
