I bought an old Kyosho outboard and i was anxious to try it out. It hit me that a paint tray was shaped like a boat. I went down in the basement and found a nice boat shaped paint tray and this is the result.
I have not had it in a big pond yet but in my small outdoor gold fish pond it started to get "on plane" in about 4'. Unfortunately the pond is only about 7' long so i had to shut down.
The reason for doing this is that all the suitable boats on E bay were around $100 and i did not want to spend that much at the moment. Don

Hey ,use what you got. I remember on a forum about a guy who made a boat out of a laundry basket with a gas engine in it.As long as you're having fun,go for it.
