Newbie needs help on upgrading balaenoptera musculus 22"!!!
I just purchased this toy grade boat it has 2 brushed motors. The controller is extremely cheap and safety mech prevents it ffrom working out of water. Its range is ridiculous. It will cut out after 5 feet. I have a 1_12 scale s.s. racing terminator that brushed motor burned up. I took the esc and servo out plus 7.4 by 1500 mah lipo. My question is can i exchange esc and still be able to turn left and right or do i have to instal the servo and buy a rudder. Can some please help me??

You should be able to use the radio system, battery and ESC from the terminator(that terminated) wire the two motors terminal to terminal(if you have a left and right props change over the leads on the motor which runs in the wrong direction).
Yes you will have to install a servo and rudder(maybe use the one from the terminator).
The battery maybe a little bit small in mah's you have go up to a 2650mah 2S 30C(about the same size and weight a 7.2v NiCad pack but with a lot more run time.
