Default Rc Fast boat

Hello Guys,

I am very new to rc boats and I need your experience in building a racing boat from scratch.

The specifications are to be about 80cm and to be fairly fast (at least 35km/h).

With a research at the internet I have concluded in the below parts:

Hull:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2450445

Esc:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/80A-Brushless-...%257Ciid%253A5

Brushless motor:
https://hobbyking.com/en_us/turnigy-...___store=en_us

Battery:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/HRB-RC-LiPo-Battery-14-8V-4S-4000mah-35C-70C-DJI-Drone-Helicopter-Airplane-XT60-/112026178570?hash=item1a1547d40a:g:65MAAOSwJ7RYWd1 c

Charger:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/iMAX-B6AC-LCD-Screen-Digital-RC-Lipo-NiMh-Battery-Balance-Charger-EU-UK-US-Plug-/272672419285?var=&hash=item3f7c8aedd5:m:mEpSSL6RT57pEwbGjXe_oyg

Coupling:
http://m.ebay.com/itm/2x-5mm-4mm-Boa...257Ciid%253A14

Propeller:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2123974

RC Transmitter & receiver:

Note 1: I am going to reduce the pitch of the propeller in order to have a pitch/diameter ratio of 1.6
Note 2: The hull will be printed (with some modifications) with ABS material

Question 1: Please share your comments if all the above will create a good combination?
Question 2: Would you stick on a system like the above or you suggest to alter it with a twin skeg design with two brushless, axis and propellers?
Question 3: Do you have anything to suggest for water cooling or you consider it superfluous?
Question 4: Do you believe that I have to paint and/or apply any coatings at the surface ?
Question 5: Any other comments are welcomed.

Thank you very much!
Chris Pap

Rather than try to make a prop, I'd look at an Octura 600 series prop. It's already got the pitch you want, just figure out what diameter and any mods to the blades and order it from Mark Sholund at http://www.props4u.com

Hydro Junkie: Thank you very much for your reply.Unfortunately the link you provided does not work. However, there are lots of list for Octura props in the net so I may follow your advice.
[email protected]: I would prefer the electric motors. I have used them and I am addicted to them after buying arduino some years before. Thanks a lot!

Hi Pap, just checking for a progress report. I've seen some crazy fast electric boats on youtube, wow. I've got one electric boat but have the crummy stock motor pulled out, and got detoured by another tunnel rebuild. Think you can do a youtube when your done? That's something I need to figure out. Best of luck!
