Default My First RC Boat Build

Hey all, first post here!

I'd just like to share this fun little project I did with my kids. We really wanted an FPV boat, but we didn't have much in the budget for it.

So I got to thinking, after watching many videos of people making their own beautiful models out of balsa and the such, I figured I could make some sort of boat like structure with some materials laying around the house.

Those materials happened to be cardboard, fiberglass and bondo.

I started by cutting out a simple flat bottom "row boat" style structure, then added a deck, then a little wheelhouse. I then proceeded to fiberglass and resin coat all of the pieces separately. Then, starting with the cabin, I put electronics in place.

The completely water tight cabin has a small FPV camera and transmitter housed within, with the wires running through the deck to a switch mounted below next to the batteries.

The hatch is an electronics hobby box, with the bottom cut away.

The only issue is the prop being so close to the surface, causes a lot of cavitation.

Anyways, just thought I'd share, just gotta figure out how to attach photos from my phone now!

Doesn't say anything in the rules about needing 10 posts to add images. Some sites may have that rule.

POSTING IMAGES:

In addition to the copyright restrictions mentioned above, users should also refrain from embedding any images of a sexual or offensive nature. It may not be in the rules but the forum software flat out denies your post if you try it.

You're having a problem putting pictures in you post,so I tested putting one into mine and now I couldn't find a way to take it back out.I thought maybe your problem was a glitch and it wouldn't work for me either, but it did. Maybe contact administrators about the problem. I never remembered having a problem posting pics even when I first started on here.

You have over 1k posts. The issue is only if you are new and have less than 10 posts.

I wonder if you use a link to a photo, from a photo hosting site, instead of an actual photo,if it would work. After you post an answer ,you'll have 10 post, then try posting a picture.

Links don't work either. The way I kinda got around the issue was uploading to my photo gallery and asking if people could look there.

DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You guys are starting to make me feel old, considering I have almost 7000 posts in this forum alone. Come to think about it, I've also got 4400 in another forum. Then again, I've only been a member here for almost 14 years and the other for almost 12 years so..............................

I wish Awek99 would get his post count up so we can see this thing.

On other forums the practice of randomly clicking other threads and saying "great!" or "super!!" or "smashing!!!" to get a personal count up is rightly frowned upon. But in this case, justifiable and understandable.

IIRC, the 10 post requirement came around due to several "seedy" manufacturers/distributors setting up accounts and posting pictures and sales spam all over the site. This was many years ago but, with some manufacturers, an easy to exploit site made it easy to get free advertising. Again, IIRC, there was a period of several weeks after the 10 post rule was initiated that you couldn't post any pictures while the site admins cleaned out all the sales threads with less than 10 posts in the forums.
