I am recommissioning a mono hull twincraft boat with a Zenoah 230 PUM, tuned pipe and small muffler but its way too loud. My question is what are people using nowadays to run in a quieter environment, realizing the tuned pipe will not fit inside the hull area adjacent to the radio box.and exit through the transom.
Any help will be appreciated

I don't like a muffler hanging off the end of a tuned pipe so I use pipes with internal stingers in them. If one doesn't already have it I use a piece of brass tube that fits snug into the stinger end of the pipe,up to the center of the band in the pipe.I drill a small hole or two in the tube just past where the stinger meets the pipe to drain any oil or water out of the pipe.
