RC Instructor
Hi All
New to the Forum, and just wanted to put my feelers out and find out a few things:
Does anyone know know where a person can start to learn about the electronic side of RC? i have some experience from a kid growing up building RC Gliders and planes, but have not built anything in over 20 years, and the tech has advanced so much, that i would need to start from the beginning.
Also does anyone know of anywhere that a person can do instructor training online. (i know that there is nothing more valuable than having an instructor by your side guiding you and giving you a wealth of knowledge before you RC model goes whack.... unfortunately where i am there is a very small RC community, which is great, but i would like to build up and expand the RC community.)
any advice and information is greatly appreciated.

I don't know of anyplace that you can go to get that kind of instruction. The first thing we would need to know is what kind of boat you're dealing with. An electric scale boat would need totally different electronics than a nitro fuel powered hydroplane, as an example.

Youtube has plenty of how to videos for RC stuff.
RC Car racing is more boring now...They race on hard packed clay tracks. No more dirt.
Quadcopters(Drones) got popular and caused the entire RC air spectrum to be tracked and monitored real time. AMA, real RC airplaners, can't stand them.
RC boats pretty much died off. Pro-boat and only a few smaller guys left.
Dumas is still here stamping out dry plywood in the Arizona air. They haven't changed one bit!
All that being said, everything has gotten "better". The biggest things are Lipo batteries, brushless motors, and 2.4ghz radios. They gave us endless power and no channel sharing.
Everything went straight CHINA. Most of the good US brands are gone, and don't make anything stateside.
