Cesa 1882 Speed controller on dual motors
HI,
I have just bought a used Cesa 1882 (awesome)!
First boat. Can I use my old Tekin sport (the blue one from the mid nineties), or perhaps my Novak Racer esc, or do I need special esc to handle dual motors and dual batteries?
Thanks!
Am looking forward to posting pictures of it in our blue waters from the Caribbean.

RE: Cesa 1882 Speed controller on dual motors
Hi 007,
If I'm correct, the CESA monohull version has two 540 motors on one steering prop, but I've seen other versions too.
Do you have a pic of your boat?
What size is it?
500 series motor can draw from 10-20 Ah, depending on the type and load, make sure your ESC can handle it.
You can control two motors with one ESC, if you have a two prop set-up, wire the motors, so they run in opposite directions (counter-rotating props).
If it's two motors driving one prop, wire them parallel.
Again, make sure your ESC can handle the Voltage and the current (poof..../smell...../ burn....).
Regards, Jan.

With the twin motors on a boat like that you should have an ESC that can handle the amps of a twin motor system. THe Traxxas E-Maxx ESC will accomidate twin motors and handle up to 14.4V. The Tekin Titan will also beable to run the two motors and handle the amps.

I'm building a boat with twin 775 motors and I bought the Ziya Plus ESC. Handles up to 40 volts and up to 26 cells.
Plus it's waterproof and comes ready to water-cool.
