I am going with a 550 size motor in my new boat, it has a subsurface drive but I dont know how many turns I should use.
I want to use my existing 7 and 8 cell packs.
I have Dumas 1" and 1-1/4" props.
It is going in a light 22" Chris Craft type hull.
Any suggestions ?

These boats are made to run at scale speed so putting a hot rewind into it kinda blows the idea. Most run low-buck Mabuchi's or ROAR stock motors.
7 or 8 cells will be a bit much, cut off the extras and make them into 6-cell packs. Even a 4-cell pack will push it along at scale-like speeds.
