Can anyone tell my why most of the boats that are for sale on RCU are mostly speed boats. I don't see many scale boats listed. HuMMMMM

Henry,
'Speed' boats seem to be the most common kind of boat on the market, so naturally, there will be more of them on the used market. They are the 'sexy', 'neat', most advertised type of boat it seems, and probably the easiest to sell. But 'go fast' is very limiting, not really much else most of them can/will do, but go fast. In general, they're the easiest and fastest to build. (And like every 'generalized' statement, there are always exceptions to the "fastest and easiest to build" thingy!)
Please don't misunderstand. I like the 'go fast' boats too, but I loose interest fairly quikly. I want to be able to 'do' something else besides 'go fast'. 'Scale' boats give me that option. (They tend to draw a bigger crowd, and that's fun too!)

Building one is more satisfying,
That how I feel about it also. [8D]

The problems of selling a scale boat are, firstly they generally take a lot of hours building and buyers only want to pay kit cost if that, and secondly the market is restricted as postage is not an easy option due to fragility.

My Feedback: (102)

I agree. Scale ships are great. I have a couple of hulls which I purchased and some which I have finished. The problem is that they can be as expensive as turbines, and if you are not careful you can get scammed really easy by piss poor workmanship. I have found some nice, hard to find, fiberglass hulls and plans on E-$%y.
