Default Kyosho Streamliner glitching - help!!!

I have a Kyosho Streamliner that I can't seem to rid the
glitches out of. I've tried different radios, different speed
controls, etc., but it still glitches.

I noticed on the bench this morning that just touching the
driveshaft with my hand will cause it to glitch! Anyone else
out there have any problems with this?

TIA for any help I can get!!!
Chuck

I don't know much about this boat but it sounds like a classic case of metal touching metal causing your interference. This also happens when headers touch tuned pipes and when you hook up a glow ignitor. You must have some slop in the driveline that is causing this.

Default Kyosho Streamliner glitching - help!!!

Ron,

Thanks for the reply, but I seem to get interference even when
the motor is off. For some reason, just touching the stuffing box
with my hand causes the radio to go beserk. The radio worked
fine in another vehicle, so I don't think it's the radio.

Is it possible that I've got some kind of "electrical" circuit from the
metal driveshaft up through the motor and speed control that's
somehow affecting the Receiver???

I'm stumped...

The motor doesn't have to be running to get interference. With my little experience with Kyosho boats, it probably has a hard shaft going through a stuffing tube that is bushed at each end. It might be the bushings that are worn giving you slop that could be doing it. I'm no expert on this, just throwing out some possibilities. Try lubing up the driveshaft with some grease especially near the bushings could be worth a shot. We'll get this thing figured out yet!
