Default Pictures Of Boat

This is a picture of the bottom of the boat. I put black felt marker lines to show where I am putting chines. I am building this boat for stability and fun. I just bought a Zenoah G26PUM motor that I hope will be the right power plant. Since this is my first time at building a boat I will be asking lots of questions and seeking input from this site, please feel free to tell me anything you wish.

Have you tried the motor for size?

Where is the COG ?

From the pics, the motor room seems to be a bit too much to the front, I hope you can get your CoG at 28-35%.

Regards, Jan.

The I am waiting for the engine to come in. Once I received it I will be able to mount it anywhere between 28-35 %. I was going to ask the question of COG ? I was told that its going to be 30 % of the boats length from the stern. Is this the correct % ? The boat is still in its rough stage so I can fit everything in. Does the center of gravity include all the hardware, and fuel in the tank ? The boat looks big in the picture. Compared to others I can't , but some of the factory boats are alot larger than this one. Center of gravity can be changed easily because I will be making my own motor mount that can be adjusted. Is shooting for a speed of 40 mph realistic ?

Hey, that looks like Vern Kilmer's (Forabuck) hull!!!

I have been talking to him about an all white version!

What do you think of his work, he and his son Bryan build them together.

Are you happy with it? I am also considering the Zenoah 260 with Warehouse Hobbies dual rudder and Tony's SPDIII drive.

Let me know how your project is going!

I'm still not sure whether I want to build or buy a WHH kit - Manta Ray or Magnum.
At the Marine Specialties website they have a list of what you need to build your own boat.

I just got my new Aqua Jet Nitro today I'll set it up tomorrow and test it on my lake.

Good luck on your project, I'm sure it will be fast and beautiful!

[8D] You were right, it is one of Vern's hulls, He is a nice guy to deal with and does some good work, for the price its awsome, a few small things but overall excellent value. A few wave on the sides where the deck hull is joined, no biggy, and a smudge in the color on the hatch, again no biggy My gas boat friends are all impressed with it and Vern sent me a prochure, wish I had of seen that first, I have a red, wht and blue 1.80 size plane done in a flag sceme and Vern sells his boats in a flag scheme.[sm=spinnyeyes.gif] I am in the middle of tryin to maybe get a quick draw for my boat project. I don't want to be slower than my friends gas cat[sm=punching.gif] Keep us posted on your project tooo. Butch in Niagara Falls

Dude .... why did you give up on yur hull ???? She was starting to look NICE !
( not that Vern's is not nice .... but there is just something about a certain feeling you get when YOU build the hull from scratch AND then when you toss her out and she runs GREAT ..... )
Anyway .....
Hey , best of luck with your new boat .... and FAST running to ya . Just remember .....

1) ALWAYS have fun !
2) And join this with number one , and your in for a BLAST ..... ( be SAFE and NOT stupid ! )
