Default how much i have to spend to go 120mhp, at least

i checked out schulze website and it is said that with one of its brushless SEC, you can top over 120mhp, i think it is the future 32.xxx series....i am wondering how much, at LEAST, i have to spend to go that fast..

my current plan is:

Fine Design: Xzess II Evo 2002:$280
schulze 32.55w:$327
hacker B50: $210
3 packs of 3 cell lipo: 120 (7C discharge, cheaper)
less radio,receiver, servos
total :$817

Can this combo go close to 120mph?

You don't just go out and buy a 120 MPH boat! If you could, there would be a lot of them on the water. Team JAG'S boat is mostly custom made so it's not something that you throw together and go for the record. Not only is it the money but the time and experience involved in reaching those speeds. I doubt that anything that Chris sells will go that fast otherwise he'd be running at those speeds himself. He's more of an oval racer. You ought to see what he takes to a race! One truck just to carry the boats and it's packed to the top of the cab-high cap!

That is a beautiful hull though, I saw one in Chris' pit 2 years ago at the MI Cup race. It is one of the best laid-up hulls that I've ever seen. It got my mind going as how a good Nitro motor would do in it.
Getting to 100 MPH in any R/C boat isn't easy and it gets tougher as the speeds go higher. Most are trashed after a few runs.

A few grand , maybe a bit more should do it .
Maybe ten grand though , pending on what you want .

Now , on a serious note ...
Exactly as Ron stated .

I've seen what it takes just to go 90, much less over 100 MPH. Thousands of dollars, just invested in motors. I knew of one guy back in the early '80's that was trying to break the magical (at that time) 100 MPH barrier. They would blow up a $1,000.00 motor and toss it aside like we would with a fried glow plug and pull another out of the box. Yeah, it must be nice to be able to do that.

LA Straight Away 2003 Jörg Mrwitska: 192MpH!

This year he went even faster, but crashed the boat on the first run.

Regards, Jan.

Try again. He was clocked at the top end at 143 MPH by a California Highway Patrol officer using a Laser radar gun just before the nasty crash.

143MPH!!!! [X(][X(] I saw a boat running 75 - 80 MPH a few weeks ago and that looked insane, over 100 is crazy.

GRANT ED, seeing how you are in Adelaide, you have some great racers in your area so if you've been to the races, you've seen some very good boats. One friend of mine, Craig Chenco races there a lot. Look for the green metalflake Seaducer's, that's him.
