I was thinking when i buy my Petro powered boat i like to drive it on the lake and maybe on a small river. The only thing with a river is that it has a lot of s bends and i was wondering if i can mount a mini cam to watch where i am going. I think driving on a large river would be a lot of fun especially with a friend. I river fish alot in Ontario alot and on those slow days a boat might be more fun

If you can't see it ... don't drive it . ( would be like driving your car with blinders on - ya know.... like a horse wears )
For video footage , they are good , but using them for line of sight .... no way ! Besides the fact , do you realize how easy it would be to loose track of actual direction the boat is traveling in ? [X(] ( unless you know the terrain better than you know the back of your hand that is )
If using a vid cam , video footage is the ONLY thing it should be used for ... NOT for meandering all over where you can not visually note where the boat actually is , or what its about to encounter .
IMO - bad thought .

Well i would use it for sight on a nice open lake when the distance is a bit for for laughs and giggles while chasing our buddies boats.
What should i take into consideration when mounting a mini wirless cam? How do i keep it water proof, and what wireless video camera components do you guys reccomend? Black widow...anything else?

They have an entire article on mounting wireless cams in boats. I'd give you a link but they're site wont allow remote linking. It's under Tips & Info

thanks ....
i was told from a local hobby shop that the wirleess cams won't work on my savage since the engines revs soo much that it will vibrate the camera to death even if i try to dampen the vibration.

Giday madgti.
You should look at the cameras they are using for R/C planes, there are many ready go systems available.
I would imagine an aeroplane vibrates as much as a boat. What do you think?
