Default Shockwave 26 batteries - NIMIH<>Nicad?

Hi, I just looking into 7-cell batteries and I don't know what is the difference between a NIMH and a Nicad battery. I also don't know where I can get them the cheapest. Maybe at Cheapbatterypacks.com? And what kind would you recommend for a shockwave 26? Thanks Matt

NiMH batteries are the better choice over Nicad.

Just make sure you use the right charger for the right type of battery you are going to use.

Do a search for any more info on the pros and cons of the different types of batteries.

I found a battery at http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXDNY1&P=ML. It's a 8.4 volt 7-cell battery. It would be an upgrade from my 6-cell right now. Is the battery any good? Thanks Matt

check out www.onlybatterypacks.com they are cheap. Wave Balster, yes that battery would be an upgrade. NiCd batteries after a while will develope a memory if not completely worn out before charging, every time. NiMh wont. Which is alot better. The memory will shorten the amount of energy the battery can hold. GP(Gold Peak) cells are a little more expensive, but i hear they are some of the best out there.
