I'm fairly inexperienced in the RC world. I've built two Tamiya electric kit cars and still drive them, but I've got a wooden boat body that was custom built by someone in Hawaii who I bought it off. The body its self needs some repair work done, but I need help trying to figure out how to put components together so that it will work, since I have zero experience in RC boats. I'll post pictures of the body when I get a chance.

That be a Dumas Quickie 40. If you need, I can scan the instruction sheets that I have on this boat. Mine is currently in hold phase, but if you like, here's my page on the Q40 build.

Ok so it is an actual make (further proof of how little I know), not just something some guy designed in his garage... which is what i thought at first.

Appears you'll need a motor mount (normally flat stock aluminum), strut, stuffing tube (brass tube), rudder & flex shaft. Dumas does sell a kit made specificly for this boat. I'd go with at least 100oz torque for the steering servo while a standard would handle the throttle.
If you took a look at my build, there are changes I've made to hopefully better this ole design..

Yeah, ok, so it looks like it uses one rudder right? and so Dumas says it's meant for "a 7.5cc size inboard or 3.5cc outboard marine engine." I guess [link=http://www.dumasproducts.com/cgi-bin/dumas.storefront/4259676b107bd35c271d40d4096806a9/Search/Run]this[/link] should work right? Dumas also had some hardware (<-- I have no idea why this is a link!) kits for it on their site, they also have the engine mounts.

As your pics show, your boat was made to use the 7.5 IB motor, not the 3.5 OB. Kit you'll need is a bit pricey, but it has everything you'll need (execpt the motor mount) - http://www.dumasproducts.com/cgi-bin...duct/View/2352
