stringers
i started to put the stringers in my 48 inch deep vee. Im using 3/4 pressure treated wood, i was wondering if that was to wide for any sort of mounts. I also want to know how to put the mounts in after the stringers are secured.

RE: stringers
A very good article on installing stringers can be found at MODELGASBOATS.COM . Issue 3 . 3/4" pressure treated is a bit thick exspecially if you are going to glass them in. Aircraft grade 1/4" is what most use!

Yeah ... and he has a NASTY attitude as well ! ! ![:@]
1/4 inch marine 5 ply is best , but any hardwood 1/4 inch ply will do ( treated is NOT needed - just adds extra weight . birch is good ) . make sure the stringers go to the transom and are tall enough for your engine mounts . they do NOT have to go to the front ... only as far as you need ( forward )
Find yourself something that is 5 inches wide ( cut a piece of lumber to a 5 inch width and aprox 12 inches long ) and use that as a guide . That way , your stringers are at ALL times , the same width , front to back , while glassing them in .
