how do i do my paint scheme and then gel coat

you cant, as far as i know, you either paint then clear coat on fiberglass, or on top of gel coat, Do they make clear gelcoat?

There a number of ways to do paint schemes so to speak.

Thats if you make your own hull and deck out of fibreglass.

1. Apply a coat of clear gelcoat onto mould, allow to set, then you can use fabric with some designs etc, and lay that onto the set gelcoat using polyester resin before putting down the laminate glass etc.

2. Mix different colors of gelcoat and apply them onto the mould allow to set, then apply a back color of gelcoat over the entire mould, allow to set then laminate.

3. Just apply a base gelcoat (white), then laminate, when out of mould spray the outside with what ever color paint you wish.

For those who have ready made hull and deck:
Then just spray them the color you decide on.


This is just a simple explaination, if you want to know more, then I will go into details....
