Default Radio Compatibility

Hello Folks,

I drifted over from the plane forum. About 15 years ago, I built an electric powered boat using a 2 channel Airtronics radio system......you know, the pistol grip style. The radio went gunnysack long ago and I've just been displaying the boat. I'm assuming the speed control and receiver are working fine.....batteries went south long ago also. I just picked up a used glow hydroplane and it came with a Futaba Attack T2DR 2 channel radio, which seems to work fine. I noticed that its the same frequency as my old boat. Is my "new" Futaba compatible with my old Airtronics receiver? Did I give enough information? Thanks in advance!!!

Default RE: Radio Compatibility

As a rule of thumb older receivers can work with new transmitters using the same frequency and type (AM or FM), don't really know about changes in the US over the last 15 years though...

Did you give it a try?

Be sure to do a range check before tossing the "display" boat in the pond.

Regards, Jan.
