Hi...I am looking for place to play with my gas boat.
Orange County(Anaheim,Brea,Irvine,Fountain Valley),C.A area.
If you know, please let me know. If I can't find the place, then I have to sell my boat.
Thank you

I used to live in Irvine about a year ago. Just run a Goolge search for places to launch real boats. Anywhere a real baot can run a gas boat can run. You can try Newport harbor but most people will not like the noise and there is generally a bit of traffic. You can give Mason Reigonal park a call bit I think they only allow sailboats. If you run a gas boat anywhre your allowed to, expect the police. Orange county does not let these things slip. Good luck.

Prado park has a lake just for R/C boats. It is off the first exit going North on the 71 from the 91 freeway. You'll see it on the right hand side. They require insurance and a retrievable boat.

I have been to Legg Lake twice and both times ghost town. I guess rc boating is pretty dead in S Cali.

Actually Legg Lake routinely hosts the nationals and has a huge following. Get in touch with someone in District 19 and find out when their practice and race days are. Then go and see a District race. They usually have a large turnout.

Legg lake is the place to be .. You'll need a namba membership , but once you do you can call mark grimm from district 19 , and buy keys .. you'll get full access to the lake anytime , and also the place to run in really nice .. there is a row boat already there , that you can unlock with you keys , and used to retrieve you boats . .. I got once a week , prado dam is ok , but not as nice a place ... You'll have to look at namba district 19 web site to make sure there isnt any racing going on .. there is a schedule . I may go today so email if you'd like to go .. or if your thinking about going . I can meet you down there and show you the place . Im in anaheim hills .
