New with boats - Need some direction
I am new to boats, but I just was given a boat hull and am wanting to build it up. I am not sure what type of boat it is, hopefully will find a digital camera soon. I can tell you that it is all fiberglass. There is a small crack on the top that I need to patch, but the paint needs to come off (currently half off). I have tried 60 grain coarse sandpaper and it is not doing anything against the paint. Can anyone recommend how I can get this really old pain off?
Thank you!
Thank you!

is the paint really gone or because you don.t like it?the boat is fiber glass i think ?60 grit sand papers is abit exagerated as a grit size try 180 or you will end up using a hole can of hard metal or body filler

Kinda hard to understand that 60 grit SP won't remove the OLD paint ( and part of the glass as well ) ? Is the paint gumming or something ? What do you mean when you say it won't remove ?

When attempting to remove the paint, it isn't removing anything, just smoothing the texture. The reason why I have to remove the paint is two fold. First, it is only about 45% covered with paint, in patchs. Second, I have to sand there area around a crack on the top of the hull to repair it.
and for the person with all caps.... switch to decaff and relax, its not like I doing anything to your boat.
