Default turn fin placement on pro boat mini-v

Just wondering about the placement and depth and width on something as small as a mini-v.I,ve got a brushless 6800 and 3c lipo all car stuff but modded to all be water cooled it runs like a scolded dog but go to make a semi tight turn and it spins out all wieght is balanced perfect so with a steerable outdrive shimmed to the right trim to get the boat from riding wet so I guess I need a turn fin any advice would be greatly appreciated.

most v-boats have them on the right side of the transom for right turns, on both sides for turning both ways.

Here is a couple picks of the back of my boat you want the turn fin 90 degree to the bottom. You will need to play with the length. I have since cut mine down but have not run it since cutting. With it as long as it is in pic the boat will turn a radius of about 4foot thats going 40+mph with no trouble. If you are turning both directions put on on each side

Your welcome. It will make a big difference. The boat in the pic is a 24in wildthing and I wont even attempt a turn to the left scary. At least not a sharp turn.

thanks for the advice, I have since mounted one. The placement shape and size are pretty much exactly like your pics I ran it today at MT. Trashmore VA. it really cornered much better than before.at least to the right just a basic race set up.

good to hear it worked for you. How big is the boat? Like I said I cut mine almost in half after I was told it didnt need to be as big as it was. But I havnt had a chance to run it I hope it hooks as goos as it did it was like it was on rails before. I will post a pic up next to the other one of it after I cut it.

It,s a pro boat mini-v 14" long but the kicker is the 6800kv brushless and Quark 33 amp speed control ,3c lipo, octura 2 blade sharpend & balanced It,s so fast my controller is only at 30 percent to maintain control and battery life but turn it up and the boat will come 6" out of the water and twist clockwise 180 degree,s and land on it,s lid it,s pretty cool.

Well, put a prop on the top of the transom too, then you can just do barrel rolls all day long.
