i recently bought a nikko stinger 2 rc boat because i cant afford any of the hobbie grade rc boats, so i was wondering if anyone could suggest a way for me to upgrade it to make it a little or alot faster. it runs on a 9.6 volt nimh battery. it does have some hydroplaning characteristics so i recently moved the majority of the components towards the rear of the boat and it gave it a lil more speed as there is less of the front of the boat in the water now and hydroplanes more. i also removed alot of un-needed weight from it which also gave me a little bit more speed! so if anyone could make some suggestions for me as to how i can make this boat go faster other than buying a new boat i would appreciate it! thanks in advance, chris.

it would be cheaper to buy a new boat than do the mods that im thinking of, but i can tell you right now that you will need a new esc, motor, radio system, and servo if you want to be able to get any more speed out of it....to stay cheap, i would suggest a proboat esc

i would suggest a 500 or 600 size brushed motor (try offshoreelecrics.com) you can use the origional motor, but you probably wont see too much of a speed difference though...
this radio system comes with Rx, Tx, servo, and battery holder, so its got all else you will need....
another option for power is this outboard (comes w/ motor)

it should work with the batts you have and i think it has water cooling, i would make sure there is enough room on the transom to mount it first though....
