Is it possable to run a 550/600 motor on a 15A speed controller on 7.2V or 9.6V if so what prop would you use?
Thanks again

Hi Jonjoe,
Depending on the ESC (car, boat type?) and the boat, it is possible, but only with a small prop, I'd guess 30mm max, but that really is a matter of trial and error.
A 600 motor can draw as much as 20+ A when turning a 37,5K in a surface drive set-up, getting out of the hole, personally I would't go smaller than a 30A ESC for a 600 motor and that's in a planing hull, kept on the plane for the duration of the run (race).
If you plan to start and stop a lot, 30A might be too small an ESC...
What boat is the motor ESC combo intended for?
Regards, Jan.

Hmmm, might be on the edge...
Try the combo in that hull, if it draws too much currrent and shuts down thermically, go for a bigger ESC.
