RE: SCALE & RC BOAT MAGAZINE - DEAD OR ALIVE?
Good question. "Captain Ron" Abir used to be in here, mostly in the scale boat forum but we haven't seen him in there for a while. He did show his face at the Toledo show but I didn't stop to talk to him.
There are a lot of people that apparently been ripped off by him that paid ahead for subscriptions that hadn't received what they paid for or gotten their free hats that were promised. I'd try to contact him through his other business which is well advertised in the issues that you got. It's on at least the back page.

I would try contacting Ron Abir through his other business, e-Power. I was actually surprised that he showed his face at the Toledo show this past year after what he did to his subscribers. He probably has some advertisers that also aren't too happy with him either. His intentions might have been good but found out that maybe he was out of his league in the publishing business.
I actually spent about 45 minutes one day talking to him on the phone. He seemed like a nice enough person and had offered to let me write an article for the magazine. My problem is that I really don't know that much about scale ships.

Umi, I brought that question up a long time ago, when is scale not scale. I don't think that if I went to an event like the Great Lakes Scale Ship regatta that they would let me enter my boats but then again I never asked. It would be a challenge though to try to maneuver through the course with a nitro boat.
It's too bad that Ron didn't expand ot have the chance to open up the magazine to all forms of R/C boating as the other magazine could have used some competition.
You would have made a great contributor to the mag!
