ok, i bought this years ago at a junk shop, why? dont know, seen it went back 2 weeks later and bought it. it was calling my name.

is wood with metal bow, it has a prop and shaft and a rudder oh and is a bit broken not to badly though.
dont think it was ever rc think it may have been steam the rudder has a tiller arm think you just point and go.

any ideas what it is, worth converting to electric or steam with rc

It doesn't really even look like a boat, but a cool find You sure aren't going to have someone say or guess it's a dumas something or another like a lot of these old boats, to me it looks like an old homemade boat, that wasn't built for speed(I hope[sm=lol.gif]). Gosh it just looks so odd.

A quick thought that just popped into my mind, it somewhat resembles a kayak, canoe, or sail boat hull.

Actully i believe it may be a older tug boat. See picture. The back would curve like the metal bands you see. Could even be an old frigate. You never know. Hope this help's.

everyones a comedian eh![sm=bananahead.gif] i dont think its noahs ark (theres no where to get the animal on) and i dont think anyone would have gone to the trouble of putting a rudder and prop shaft on a piece of fire wood (doesnt really help it burn)

i know its not a super fast light weight state of the art hull but thought it was interesting it would be cool to know how old it was, it smells like a wooden box of old woodworking tools i got from my gfreinds gdad, if you,ve ever been in a really old wooden garden shed you'll know what i mean.

deathwish- yeah those look quite similar i thought it looked like a cargo barge but now im wondering if its missing a cabin

Either a narrowboat or a canal tug. Watch or record channel 250/251 (Discovery Real Time) mid-morning - they are currently showing the Waterworld series.
Some liberties have been taken at the back end with the prop and shaft, but the rest is very distinctly a fairly short narrowboat. If you want to rebuild as a scale appearance, assume a beam of 7ft.
The drive looks like a steam coupling which would put the motor midships, and the bands over the stern, make me think of a canal tug/workboat for use on the narrow cuts.
