Call it a dumb question but why would you want to run a boat 1500ft away?

Most quality radios should afford you such a range (provided you were able to elevate yourself above the waterline - such as a stand, bank, or similar). Whether you can see it well enough to safely control it is going to be a different point.

Can you see an object 2-3 feet long at 1500 feet away?.. and tell what it is doing?...

Let me guess, its a bait boat..

What you're asking is pretty broad. Let's start at the basics. What are you looking for and what kind of price range are you looking at?
I also agree with the others as once a boat gets out 400-500 feet away it's really hard to see what it's doing unless it's a really big one.

I need run between 1000-1500feet because I am trying to use this boat to "Spinning fishing" in the beach, my idea is to use the boat to place the lures ?.
Probably right now you can understand the reason of my question.

I'm afraid that the distances you are talking about are just not very practical for a typical R/C type boat. I won't say it's impossible, but it's just not very common at all, and to make it possible is going to cost a fortune probably.
The primary "got'cha" is that you have to be able to see the boat to be able to control it. While there are ways of getting around that problem, they are not cheap, or even reasonable as far as I'm concerned. A 'potato-canon' would probably be more practical (and before you even think about that, be warned, don't go there! ). Not too sure you could even get 5 football fields worth of line on a reel, to be honest. Can you? It's probably just because I'm lazy, but that reel better have a motorized crank on it....?

Yes, now i understand the reason for your question...

..and no, there isnt a boat manufactured out there that will do what you want.

If you built something yourself 4-5 feet in length, LOTS of power (motor + batteries) LOTS of floatation, witha top of the range radio... and think in terms of $$$$$$'s... then its possible.

if you do a search on the subject you will find quite a few threads on this.

check this one: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_15...%2Cboat/tm.htm

to be able to get such distance a radio system that more than likely would be able to achieve this would be the Futaba 2.4Ghz FASST system.
I think Nomadio would also be able to do it but that system is much more expensive than Futaba.

Dan.
