Default LETS RACE.. The IMPBA INTERNATS 08

LETS RACE!!!

Fellow RC boat racers.
I formally invite you to attend the 2008 International Regatta in Evansville IN the 19th through the 26th of July.

This years IMPBA International Regatta will be hosted by IMPBA district 4 and the friends of dist 4.

Your CDs for the 2008 event are:
Michael Zaborowski and Garrett Randall, Michael will be CDing US-1 heat racing as well as Trophy Trials. Contact information for Michael Zaborowski is:
Michael Zaborowski

Phone 217.344.4311

Also:
Our District 4 director Mr. Garrett Randall will be CDing the Specialty Classes, he can be reached at [email protected]

At this time we would like to thank those who have committed to help run this years event. We all hope for good weather, water and needles to make your 2008 International Regatta extra special.

I would also like to thank Tom Moorehouse and AquaCraft Models as they have allowed us to secure a domain name and website URL for this event. You can check for information and details about the event at:
www.internats08.com. As soon as information becomes available we will update the website as needed. The race entry flyer can be mailed in but we are also hoping to soon have online registration available. Also make sure you check www.impba.net for updates as well.

Some details about your 2008 Internats:

Open water schedule

Friday July 18 and Saturday July 19 2008 open water schedule:

As soon as the race site is ready and all safety requirements are met, we will start the below open water schedule. IÂ’m noting this now as we might run into some race sight setup that will overlap the below schedule.

B class boats from 10am to 11am
D class boats from 11am to 12pm
E class boats 12pm to 1pm
F class and gas boats 1pm to 2pm
E class 1/8 scale boats (ONLY) 2pm to 2:30pm
B class boats from 2:30pm to 3:30pm
D class boats from 3:30pm to 4:30pm
E class boats 4:30pm to 5:30pm
F class and gas boats 5:30pm to 6:30pm
E class 1/8 scale boats (ONLY) 6:30pm to 7pm
7pm the water is CLOSED

Note: E class 1/8 scale boats may test during regular E class testing

Racing format is US-1 heat racing with the top 5 or 20% qualifying for time trials. Eight boats running are required to make a US-1 class.

We are sorry to announce that the Evansville race course is no longer properly positioned to set records. At the 2008 International regatta no records can be set during US-1 Trophy Trials. We apologize for those of you hoping for a surveyed course.

No nitro or gas motors will be allowed to start until after 8AM.
No nitro or gas motors will be allowed to operate after 7PM
This goes for all days of the event including testing. No exceptions to this rule.

Kind regards from IMPBA Dist 4 and the friends of Dist 4. Together with you, we plan on making the 2008 International Regatta the best it can be.

GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

Sincerely, Michael "Grimracer" Zaborowski

P.S. If you have questions or concerns please contact Garrett or myself directly. This will allow better one on one with your questions or concerns. We also do not want to risk missing something important if questions are posted in web forum threads.

Default RE: LETS RACE.. The IMPBA INTERNATS 08

For those of you that haven't seen the controversy and problems that went into this, a big thanks to Mike and the others who have stepped up to the plate to make sure that this wouldn't be the first year in over 50 when the Internat's didn't happen.
They've got a LOT of work ahead of them as most clubs need almost a year to get this event going.
Help is needed at the race so if you plan on attending and have some time to spare, I think that it would be appreciated.
Aquacraft has stepped up to give financial assistance as there was insurance problems where the site owner wanted more coverage that what the IMPBA normally provides.

is the Rio 51 able to race in a IMPBA event. If so what types of mods are and are not allowed?
