Default new to redesign

I am new to boat models. I am trying to find out if there are kits that let you adapt kids toys into a RC boat. My wife and I have been tring to find a boat slow enough to let our 3 yr old play with in the pool but large enough and sturdy shat he could put his action figures in.

I am just wondering if this is common, and if it is, are there kits that would make this an easier adaption?

i would recommend those boats in walmart and radioshack if it's for a 3yr old and will be in the pool..there's a lot of good lookin' and scaled that can be found there..even the DAD will enjoy it...goin to a kit will be too much for the said application....just my 2cents.

yeah, my nikko toy boat entertained me till I was 13, I wouldnt get anything more expensive then say a aquacraft mini-v or a zig zag. Even then, I personally would buy a toy boat, since you never know, they might not care for it after a few runs. Probably not but it could happen and those toys actually can be reliable, I used my nikko boat for 6 years and spent pretty much my whole childhood on a boat, so it got a lot of use, including salt water.

If you want to build a kit, how about a Vac-U-Tug, Jr.

they're just not reliable if you mod them, like run more cells or prop up. Keep it completely stock................ and no problem
