Hi, I live in the Netherlands and I want to buy a rc gas boat, Í will export it from the USA.
But I can't find a lot of information about these boats. Which one should you choose ? or does anybody have another suggestion, and is allmost the same price, all suggestions are welcome !

Nick,
Check into the RC Gas Boat thread, there is quite a good number of post regarding the Rio 51 and there is one also regarding the exact same question.
Has far as I can see (have read) the V24 design has had numerous problems and seemed underpowered.
The Rio 51 (I don't own one, just what I have read) seems to be a great Hull, it looks like there quite a good number of issues with the new engine.
A lot of people are replacing the original motor with a Zen 260 when they get the boat, quite a few would buy the boat if it came out as a Hull available only but that is not happening yet.
check those threads out but I think from what I read the Rio is a better choice, keep in mind they are not the same type of Hull design.

hello people, just a quick note on the rio51. I own one and can honestly say for an RTR package it,s ok. to me the hull runs somewhat flawless, but the problems that have occurred are that the water cooling system seems to be inadequite, never seem to move enough water maybe under sized. The exaust manifold cracks very easy (2nd run) can be welded but not easy. 6th run blew the whole side of the cylinder head out. So my personal feelings of the rio51 on a scale of 1 to 10 I would probably give it a 6.......................................[&o]

I own a V24. I love the boat. My engine`s cylinder head developed a hairline crack because of in-adequate cooling to the head. I just bought a new Zen260. I should have it in a week or two. If I had the money I would have bought the RIO 51 as well.

If money was not a question, I would have bought this.

MHZ also has 2 sizes of the V24.
