All of my airplane radio receivers use 4.8V battery packs. All of the 27 or 75 mhz recivers that I've looked at use 4 1.5V alkalines. Will these receivers work as well using 4 NIMH batteries that total 5.4 V at full charge vs. the 6-7 that four fresh alkalines have? Same question goes for replacing the eight alkalines with eight NIMHs in the trandmitter.

yes to both questions.
although the voltage is less the capacity is much higher, I used 4 cells for a few years and have recently switch to 5 cells AAA's and 5 cells 2/3 A for my Rx and 8 cells NiMh for the Tx.

Thank you. I feel better now as I had already bought a dozen NIMHs in AA size. I ahve a Titan Jr. field charger and a battery holder to use to charge them.
