Default velineon vxl esc in a boat?

is it possible to use this vxl velineon car or trucks esc in a 30' rc boat.with a 9xl feigao brushless?the esc claims no motor limit and it is for brushed and brushless motor.could it handle vigors of a rc boat?i'm currently running a 9xl feigao, hextronik 120 amp on 12 3300nimh cells, prop 38mm or 40mm not sure, but it runs good on the water, needs alittle fine tuning or some trim tabs, but that's a easy fixs.i need reverse for those tight spots,so would the vxl velieneon esc for trucks,be used in a boat.thanks
